I am pathological when it comes to fixing up little things that don't need fixing. I had ordered some little VU meters and a driver board a while back and after testing them with the SSE to make sure it worked well I made a new top panel. It's not perfect but it at least has the layout sorted so I can waterjet a final version once the pandemic calms down and I have access to the university facilities in the fall. Going to a conductive top panel will also let me simplify the grounding as there is currently a lot going on underneath to keep things safe.

I went with a separate 12v AC transformer for the VU meter driver board to keep things relatively isolated from the tubelab circuit and feel like I have run out of room inside the body. Also switched to ultralinear without CFB on the KT88's and really like the sound through my La Scalas.
