Is Audio Amateur magazine now in the public domain?

I just became aware of this web site:
The Audio Amateur Home

So someone has bought a domain name. Have they bought the rights? Or are these magazines in the public domain?

I think domains are usually fair game, but I rather doubt the magazines are in the public domain or that somebody bought the rights. Otherwise, I suspect they would have posted a note to that effect.

I had checked with Ed Dell (the publisher) before he passed away about posting copies of the articles I had published in 1977, and he said it was fine. Maybe posting copies is not allowed by copyright laws, but if nobody is going to enforce the law, it's not a problem. Also, there may be a case for this falling under the "fair use" provision of the US Copyright Act.

This might be a violation of copyright law. AudioAmateur is not dead and gone, but you might not recognize it..

All of the Audio Amateur/Audio Electronics Issues(1970 - 1999) had been available for a while on World Radio History Archive site. They were pulled at the end of 2018.
At first only the links were removed so you could still download them if you knew (or could guess) the address before they all disappeared in early 2019.

The site listed by the OP now has a "cease" letter from Circuit Cellar on it instead of magazines.

Sometimes it's useful to check out such sites with the Wayback Machine. And if some months aren't listed on that page, try entering those urls anyway.
