Them meanies done delayed my pcbs.

I am guessing this is due to a lack of carriers out of Hong Kong.

Now I am sadfaced

But daddy, I want an ompa loompa, NOW!

I've said it already, but DHL track and trace is like pornography to me.
The speed with which they can move things across borders is simply beyond me.
Nobody does logistics like Zee Germans!

I find the Hong Kong connection is normally incredibly fast.
Here is screenshot from my last JLCpcb order pre Covid.

When you usually pay for in-2-days-at-your-door service you don't expect much delay.

99% of the times I choose normal post with tracking.I have just received a small package from them via ELTA (greek post office) which was send in 14th of May. Correos from Spain takes about the same time.
Before coronavirus I remember it was a two week delay more or less.

I'm patient guy and what I'm concern is overseas delivery and the possibility for the package to be lost.

I read it: got from China factory to HK by 7am next... and the HK office has a week+ backlog so the Estimated Delivery is June 10.
Then I would wait at least one week before complaining in a Public Forum :D
Which is still excellent delivery from China unless you paid a fortune. I have waited a month in normal times, though I have also had stuff come further faster, in normal times.
My point :p

Mind you, my grand daughter Martina Antonella is just as impatient, ... but she´s 5 ... and Female ;)

Now this is what I expect from Zee Germans.

12 hours sitting in Hong Kong is an unusually long delay under normal circumstances. Pretty damn impressive in the context of civil unrest and Covid.

If I am lucky, my pcbs will arrive by close of trade tomorrow. If I am unlucky then probably Monday.

I probably should have done that Mouser order already so I can build the stuff.....

Nothing too fancy.

-My own clone of the Sigma22 that takes larger diameter caps.
-00940's open source LM3886 boards
-Objective2 HPA boards
-Prasi's through hole Ideal bridge rectifier boards
-Home brew class A LME49720 preamp boards I call "The Backup"
-Home brew boards to house relays and dropping resistors to use with Rod Elliot's P33
-Home bew mono speaker protection boards based on Rod Elliot's P33
-Home brew dual rail linear PSU boards that take 6x 18mm caps per rail I call 'The Meni'
-Home brew LM1875 boards I call the 'Big Cap'

We got's a race on our hands!

Well boys,

Luck was not with me today. No pcbs for me to play with this weekend
DHL 3.jpg

Things just ain't moving on Friday afternoon....

On a side note. We got's a good old fashioned logistics race on our hands!

I did my mouser order today and managed to order enough that I could split the order into 2 parts and still get free shipping.

I am led to believe the UPS won't be fantastic with international shipping right now so I chose Fedx for the second carrier.

So now we get to see Fedx vs DHL from the mighty Murica to Aotearoa (New Zealand)

I will post the track and traces once packages start moving.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

An order from HiFi2000 (modushop) took 4 days from Bologna to the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA, USA. An order from PartsConnexion (Canada) to 2 or 3 days. Orders from Mouser and Digikey took 4 days and 3 days, respectively. Nothing to complain about for any of those vendors.

Shipments from China through AliExpress, on the other hand, are really dragging. Ordinarily, SpeedPAK and the other AliExpress-supported mailing services take about 4 weeks. I have two orders that are both over 7 weeks old and both are showing as still stuck in warehouses in China. In all, I have six AliExpress orders which, under normal circumstances, would be considered delayed, and none of those orders appears anywhere close to delivery.

It seems pretty callous to complain about shipping delays caused by a virus that is responsible for killing over 100,000 people, but for some of us cooped up inside following social distancing rules, that's the immediate effect.

Regards,
Scott

I don't think anybody was complaining here.
I viewed this thread as an exchange of information so that we might all know what to expect in terms of shipping times during these strange days that are upon us.

I too am waiting on a parcel from Aliexpress that was 'due' a week ago.

Given the situation in the world right now I'm going to allow a few more weeks before I lay a query.
I think allowing for an extra month's delay for cheap shipping out of China is not unreasonable at this point in time.

Sadface:

I only meant to observe that the COVID-19 threat affects us all in weird ways. My neighborhood and family are observing the social distancing rules. I am one of the very fortunate ones -- not having a family member or friend who has come down with the virus means that shipping delays are one of the few ways in which COVID-19 affects me. If the situation was different I'd be singing a very different tune.

Stay healthy.

Scott

No worries mate, I hear you.

We're bloody lucky here in NZ.
No new cases since april.
1 active case.

We open up completely next week.
No more social distancing, no restrictions. Back to 'normal'. Thursday at the latest and possibly earlier if the Prime Minister is feeling nice.
Being an island nation, we should be able to keep that bastard out as long as we keep up the testing and quarantine at the border

Good luck and stay safe in these tough times.
