I always seem to lose the instruction book with gadgets, But the statistical functions on a calculator are a mystery to me anyway. And I appear not to have a factorial (!) function.
It gets potassium in an occasional douse in Miracle-Gro plant food.
I am wary of trimming it just before it (hopefully) flowers. Surely this is a bad idea? Be very stressful for all concerned.
I read all the instructions on the Internet.

In the late 70s I worked for a casino company in Sweden. We also operated the Atari arcade TV-games and had once a visit from the chief engineer of Atari's arcade game dept.
He told a great story about an operator who had a problem with one game and got the advice from Atari's tech dept to "cut out B5"

That's a Christmas Cactus. It requires short days to bloom. Putting it under a lamp at night, or putting it in a brightly lit room at night, will prevent it from blooming.
It also prefers cool rooms. A hot room will inhibit growth and encourage pathogens.
Phosphorous.
A simple way of looking at fertilizer is:

But it's complicated! Plants need Magnesium too. It's a secondary nutrient. Apparently you should throw 50g per square meter of Epsom Salts or Magnesium Sulphate every year onto your garden. Or a teaspoonful in a 1 Gallon watering can. It and nitrogen make up chlorophyll. Apparently excess Potassium inhibits Magnesium uptake.
Cows, especially milkers, that don't get enough Magnesium get the "Grass Staggers" which is a serious neurological illness and can be fatal. And Nitrogen runoff kills the planet. And some people disapprove of chemical fertilisers. Say they kill soil microbes and there are better ways to improve soil. It's all a worry.

All that is approbo of nothing, but it kept me off the whisky for a wee while!
What is approbo?
We have a family history of bipolarism and autism and dyslexia lurking (What you noticed?). Grandmother was tragically afflicted. My niece and nephew can incline to the manic. No-one talks about it though. Just hope for the best.
Most of them are rattling with pills, but I find a couple of paracetamol, half a Vitamin C and some Liver Salts (with Magnesium) along with a healthy diet keeps me serene and copacetic. No sign of the Grass Staggers here.
My brother frequently compliments me: "Bruv, you live on another planet!"
I wonder if Liver Salts would be good for my Cactus?

Very successful day so far. I ventured out of delightful Southsea into the wastelands of North End for my swimming constitutional. I took the No. 18 bus which stops outside the local care home for schizophrenics. They were all sat at the bus stop cadging cigarettes and drinking beer. Happily the bus came quickly.
I had left my camera at home, because most pools frown on me taking pictures of attractive mothers in bikinis. Sought out a young mother for advice on how this unfamiliar Mountbatten pool worked. I quickly stuffed my belongings into Locker 78 (which seemed an uninteresting number), noticing that No. 69 locker was in use, and proceeded to the swimming lanes.
Got in trouble with the lifeguard for swimming in an empty but unsupervised lane, but was not ejected. Imagine my delight when the loudspeakers started blasting out "Thriller" and "Ghostbusters!" for the aquacise class. Even the vulture-like lifeguards were bopping about.
Then proceeded to the Lord Palmy back on my home turf. The Coffee was "£1.20" which I noticed was 5! Played it safe and sat at table No. 56 to catch up on the adventures of Dave Robicheaux:
On the way home I saw Ruth and Harry in the friendly BetFred horse-investment shop. Invested £1 on a horse called "Off The Planet" in the 3.05 at Chepstow. How Ruth laughed.
Well, she won't be laughing if it comes in!
