The Black Hole......
I was slightly intrigued as to who was doing this, then decided life was too short and the mods won't tell anyway

I've been trying to expand my knowledge of female electronic music pioneers and latest I am sampling is Laurie Spiegel. Made me realise more about the breadth and depth of Bell labs research in its glory years and also made me wonder, does any single 21st Century company come within 20dB of them in terms of the amount of good stuff they did? (note I know the world has changed and fundamental research costs a parcel more now than it used to, but still interested in opinions).

By process of elimination Max and Audiotechnica were the same. If they were the original mad max we don't know!

+10 as well...There is an online archive of their newsletters in several locations, 1922-1957 can be found here and you can disappear for a week reading this stuff...

Cheers!

My Trans Oceanic's typically sit in the broadcast band or low shortwave, and 1R5 is indistinguishable from 1L6 there. 1L6 is not that hard to find. WB0SND had a bunch of JAN 1L6 on sale when I last looked at his web site.

John's latest has a review. I have to say I am impressed that the list price has doubled but it's still considered competitive!
