Here's an interesting and longish blog post about NASA's Space Launch System, and it discusses Boeing and the 737MAX toward the end. Some of it sounds a lot like one or more articles discussed earlier in this thread, about Boeing buying McDonnel Douglas and the management changing.

It was very easy to confuse those two adjasent holes: the wrong one was more attractive.

Parker Hannifin make hydraulic stuff, pumps, valves, cylinders and so on.
One of the big names in that line of business.
It was part of Eaton, currently I did not check who owns and operates it.

Parker Hannifin is a publicly traded company and one of the largest suppliers of hyrdraulics, landing gear assemblies etc.

It's a first rate company, absolutely six-sigma.

More worrying is that BAe had been given 3 years to sleeve the wrong hole and hadn't bothered.
