Only too true. When I moved to London nearly 40 years ago, the locals made fun of many Americanisms (which I did't use much). Almost no one said "Ill call you" on the phone. They laughed at calling a large amount of something "a bunch" and the horrible "You guys" and "that guy" was almost completely absent. Now the Brits use it more than we do! I'm shocked, shocked. It all sounds so strange to me. Blame American TV.*
"You guys" seemed to move across the USA in the 1970s from its origins in the north east, now it has completely infected the UK.
