In Linear Audio, issue 13, the publisher/managing editor announced that this would be the final issue of that magazine.
For me, another (maybe the final) chapter in DIY Audio publishing closes. On-line has inevitably succeeded.
In the US, we've had Audio Magazine; AudioCraft; Audio Amateur and subsequent Ed Dell-inspired publications - now only AudioXpress.

In a sense places like this have really supplanted the old magazines.
True, but not replaced 100%, I find forum designs never get to level of polish and peer review that published designs do.
Yes, Jan is special, and we should be congratulatory and thankful for his contributions to our community.
Also, I don't think he spells his last name with parentheses.
