Didn't buy them but I found a pair of Boston HS450 speakers in the garbage today... They last thing I need is more speakers so I'm going to give them away.

I would be interested in what you mean by the last thing you need. I gave up on that years ago. I found a new place to live so I could use the old place for speaker storage.

And what did we buy today?
I bought a pair of valves, they recently arrived along with some very nice octal sockets.
A single ended stereo amp is on the drawing board. The OPT’s have been ordered. This will be the design of Shindo Cortese with KT88 instead of f2a. The f2a is in short supply so an amp based on it would be a nuisance to maintain. The KT88 is similar and plentiful.

IMHO, it depends on the center nub. Someone put Mopar wheels on my 1969 Falcon. The driver side tended to get loose. Ford wheels didn't. The center hole in the Mopar wheel was bigger than the nub on a Ford flange, so all centering was on the lugs. Ford on Ford was snug, sometimes tight, didn't get loose.

Bought a simple D/A-converter to hook up to my telly as the TV speakers sound not so nice. Have tried to use the headphone connector but with bad result, so a $5 D/A may solve my issues.
