The 55 Cheve weighed 3250 dry and was supposed to sport 95BHP.
I installed a Hurst Mystry shifter, Viper Headers, and a Rochester progressive 2bbl carburetor.
It would only do an 18 sec 1/4 mile. But, it would cruise at 85m/h and get near 20mpg at that speed. Icould get 22m/g if I drove below 70m/h.
Top speed was above 110, because I buried the speedometer that went that high on my way from Nasheville to Memphis while returning to Milligan Field on a weekend pass in the NAVY.
I remember siphoning gas by mouth. Washing parts in gasoline, etc. It is a wonder we are still here.

Gasoline today here is $1.79 (around $0.45/liter).
It's actually tracking the fall of bunker fuel since January, what a shock.
My propane guy was eager to top me off last week, and I just realized he may be getting a spot price much lower than he assumed when he set our contract price last fall.

Digikey must not be too busy either. Last night I submitted an order at 8:47 PM EDT, which was 13 minutes before their "same day ship" cutoff time of 8 PM CDT. All previous late night orders have shipped the next day since the USPS truck has already come and gone from Digikey's warehouse.
Through some time machine magic, the order arrived in the Minnesota post office before I placed it. It arrived at 7:19 PM and was in South Dakota at 8:34 PM.
I should have my parts Monday morning. We shall see.

Thursday night at 8:47 PM local time I ordered some parts from Digikey using the under $5 USPS shipping rate (cheapest choice).
This morning (Saturday) at 10:03 AM, I got them. All have already been soldered into the boards.
There is now the simple matter of making a front panel, adding over 150 pots, switches, and jacks, and wiring them all up to the two boards, and finding the power supply I made for it about 6 or 7 years ago.
At that point I can fire up a project that has been started, stalled, and robbed for parts at least three times over almost 10 years, the MFOS "Ultimate" and "Ultimate Expander."

Been mostly focusing on buying groceries for delivery or pickup from Costco, Walmart, and Superstore. Decided I'm not going to do that with milk anymore because it is never making it to expiry date, which I assume is because it sits unrefridgerated for a long time between the order being filled and actually getting home.
On the audio front bought some cheap unfinished wooden boxes at the dollar store to make project enclosures and bought a cheap CS4344 DAC board on Aliexpress.

I was thinking the same about milk and other perishables for folks that order groceries on line.
I buy the more expensive filtered milk for my Mom, it has a much longer expiry date. I use Soya milk, it is about the same as the filter milk.
I was first in line yesterday for groceries, good reason to get up early, I hate crowds anyways, so the COVID-19 scare is playing right into my hands.

I bought some ink and a new kettle, and a 35mm film scanner; not as exciting as Cal’s shopping

They are perfect for my application. Just need to damp the pillars.
Stay well all!

Au contraire mon ami. For years Hanh and I had a hot water dispenser. They're big among the Asians. But for some reason, when we needed a new one, we got an electric kettle.I bought some ink and a new kettle, and a 35mm film scanner; not as exciting as Cal’s shopping

Now she likes to boil it and move it to a thermos. I guess she just needed a little change in life.
Hmmm...should I be worried?

Indeed. Everyone has one in Japan, as far as I could tell. Oddly, my wife has never been eager to get one, but she did insist on getting a kettle with variable temperature control. And rightly so. Green tea really is far superior when brewed at the correct temperature.

We've had a Tiger for a few months. It's really handy for tea drinkers. No waiting around for the kettle to boil.
