What are the signs and symptoms besides the flu-like illness? Any bronchi obstruction? Atelectasia? Lungs infiltration? Does it just have some peri-hilar opacities on the X-Ray ? I'd just like to know how the patients goes to acute respiratory failure. Also, were the patients who died previously sick/had any illnesses (ie. fatality rate of young people without any history vs old fragilized people).
Your graphics shows that it is getting worse every day, maybe exponential.
