since I joined, I have been able to get a lot of valuable information from this forum. there are very well prepared and expert people who make their knowledge available to everyone and I bow before them.
I visited the diyaudiostore section and I noticed that there are many kits behind which there is the work and the time of the people who conceived them but I have not seen kits on the speakers. without a doubt, in this forum there are people able to design loudspeakers of all kinds very well.
I asked myself what the reasons could be and the following occurred to me:
1) this site is dedicated to DIY enthusiasts and not for professional use.
2) some commercial operator could take advantage of it to copy use and sell.
3) I believe that those who have worked hard to carry out a project rightly do not like it to be claimed and marketed by other people.
so how can these problems be solved?
the only thing that comes to mind is the ban on copying and marketing but then to enforce the law is always a breakup of bales, sorry for the expression.
and then there is no solution?

1. Nobody has ever offered us a loudspeaker kit to sell in the store
2. Loudspeaker kits are typically big, heavy, expensive to ship, and therefore capital intensive. Loudspeakers themselves are also big, heavy, and available at heavily discounted prices from several specialist suppliers, meaning profit would be low and it would take a long time to recoup R&D costs.
3. Time - the store is a "little side project" of diyAudio that presently consumes a lot of time, certainly we've got enough on our plates at the moment with our current release schedule.
Neither of the above mean we'll never offer a kit. If we do offer one, it might be an OB plan. But there's really little value we can add at present, given our own limitations - we're good at filling a gap in terms of small unique parts for DIYers you can't get anywhere else. Drivers are readily available elsewhere at cut-throat prices, wood is big to store and heavy to ship.

Dave and I have discussed developing a pair of speakers for DIYAudio (a single-driver and a multiway design) in the past. Time & Dave's health issues 18 months back clapped a stopper over it.
Possibly we could combine the two & do a 2-way with midbass & wideband mid-tweet. We'll talk about it some more, although I'm so broke at the moment I'm having to pay per minute for internet time, so it's a little difficult.
As Jason notes, the main issue is the international nature of DIYAudio as a forum & the sheer weight & expense of shipping panels, to say nothing of the cost of producing & storing them. Not insurmountable, but if somebody buys a kit, typically that means they expect a full kit; there are plenty of free designs on the forum (and in many other places) already.
