@Dave: Peter made them all to the same format: size 2.35 x 3.35 inches. here is an example of his F4 boards I used in BA3b. AlephJ pcbs should look similar. I believe they were also blue.

I believe the beauty is in the original (nonX) version as far as the distortion pattern goes. I used Aleph30 before (non-Jfet version with higher gain) and still remember the warm midrange. The bass control was sloppy though (not Aleph's strong suit). I am thinking now of making an AlephJ with Semisouth jfets which apparently should be getting close to J2 (with mainly the Aleph CCS vs classic Mu follower difference in the OS). The end game is pairing the amp with the right speaker (again horses for races ;)).
