After reading up on these I'm afraid I'll pass this opportunity this time still. It seems that even with custom buffer these are not likely gonna be an upgrade to what I have plus it'll take time to design and build the needed input board for these.

That's the only nag about the OEM edition, the input board. You either have to solder the wires to a double row header or finally someone could order pcb from gerber files that have been kindly offered in another thread here
