The thing about these speakers is
1. They sound much better than they look.
2. In five years they’ll be worth twice as much as the OP is asking, and you’ll have a hard time giving away your diy ones.

1. They do sound surprisingly good.
I was kind of shocked, but not too much given the price.

2. Yes, DIY speakers are usually not very sell-able, unless they are extremely well made and/or they are made by (or even better, you are) a quasi-famous speaker builder.

These drivers are similar to the assets this guy is describing in the first 43 seconds of the video:
YouTube

You go buy a new VW, drive it home and it is worth 20% less.
This guy goes and buys a new Porsche GT3, drives it home and it's worth 20% more.

Wow.

Good luck jimmy

Thanks, but doesn't matter if I sell them too much.
As already mentioned by some one else, they tend to trend higher vs USD and I can't put the money into anything better than Altec 755A's.
There's probably some one who will buy these for $5k and sell them to some one for $10k. $10k is not a lot of money to some people or $10 million for that matter. I mean Trillion is not a lot for the government anymore. People pay millions for a painting my 4 year old could paint. Why?

I asked my friend who sells mostly German cars in 1999 why do you have that Porsche (later 70's - early 80's 911); he said because it's better than cash. But when you're in the business you know which Porsche 911 is going to appreciate and when, roughly.

Try explaining to people why Bitcoin is a good investment at $3 a coin, it barely made sense to me.

Anyhoodle, $800 or best offer for the AR-1 cabs and woofers. Yes, I will sell them for that, thanks for the elle oh ellez though :D

Interesting side note: people who lol at you in life, the joke is usually on them, I have noticed. I've done it in my life also and I should have been laughing at myself :D

Actually the only people I lol at are people who bury paper money in the back yard. I mean, if you go to the trouble of burring money, it's probably going to be there awhile. Why not bury gold? I know some one who's father put paper money into the ground in jars when gold was $35 an ounce and when their son dug it up gold was like $1500.
That paper had only 3% of it's original value vs gold :rofl:
Now there's an elle oh elle.
