Up for sale is a vaunted VTA PH16 tube phono preamplifier, designed by Roy Mottram, with several upgrades including Mundorf Mcap Supreme Silver/Oil output capacitors. The PH16 offers selectable input impedance and capacitance for optimal performance from any cartridge. And what performance! This preamp has formed the core of many vivid and lifelike systems in my listening room, but recent acquisitions force a sale.
Asking $900.
This unit is configured for moving coil cartridges, with a pair of rare Sowter 9570-Z step up transformers (with the special OCC wire; 1:10 step-up ratio) built into the input. If you use moving magnet cartridges or are not interested in the Sowters, I can remove them for a reduction in price.
It is in *excellent* working condition, but rated 7 for some minor cosmetic blemishes (see pictures).
