Muses Volume

Finished up the volume attenuator boards today. Address jumpers looking a little ragged from the fibers left behind from the paper towel I was using to wipe down the boards. It's really just fine. :)

Waiting for the Arduino-style connectors to arrive for proper stacking. Also started on the controller boards this evening by attaching the micros.

Finished soldering the uController board tonight. Picked the wrong encoder, so new order for that. Also managed to mis-order the 90° pin headers; received straight instead. :boggled: Never a dull moment with parts suppliers!

Found a nice 15/5 transformer to use with it, though.

Wrapped up the first unbalanced set yesterday. Still waiting on the encoder and a couple of miscellaneous headers to arrive from the parts house. Gave it a test fit and all looks good!

Also double-checked my main boards and realized I hadn't shorted the center input relay connections. I chose the bend-and-solder approach.

Completed the second main board for my balanced set, including only the necessary components this time. :)

Ha! Absolutely. It'll be quite silent without them, won't it? :)

You asking about the LED load resistors? Those are the only ones I remember on the main board. Those are Yageo. If you're asking about those on the volume board, the ones in the photo on the unbalanced config are Ohmite. The ones on the balanced set are Vishay.

And if I'm totally off the mark and you're asking about the relays, those are Omron. :)

Looks good to me, don't forget the jumpers at X3 on all boards. ;-)
Which brand of the resistors you use on the mainboard (Amtrans)?

While I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, I was able to easily acquire the Alps EC11E15244B2. That’s a 15/30 encoder with momentary push switch that I believe should be functional. In the US, Mouser has plenty of them in stock. I haven't compared them to the Bournes device, however.

The Bourns rotary encoders are deeply backordered so I won't be able to try anything for a while.
