Here are some goodies for speaker builders in the NYC area. Items are located in Westport, CT 06880.
1) 2x15" Open Baffle Woofers:
This is a pair of DIY open baffle woofers, previously used with great success in a DIY speaker project which included an 8" fullrange driver and tweeter on open baffle and crossed around 100hz. The woofers are 15" vintage, most likely Jensen or Eminence. They have alnico magnets. The Qts is high, which allows these to be used on OB without EQ. The build is 18mm birch ply, with two layers (36mm) on the front baffle. The effective baffle width is about 48" wide, and response is down to about 40hz without EQ. $200 for the pair.
2) 15" sealed subwoofers:
This is a pair of 15" sealed subwoofers in 2.5 cubic foot boxes. The boxes are custom made, two layers of 19mm birch ply (38mm total). Very burly! Drivers are Eclipse 8715, a nice sub for a sealed enclosure. Passive with Speakon connectors. A 350W Behringer amp and MiniDSP digital crossover are also available to drive them. $900 subs alone.
