Default 4th order bandpass with PR

That is interesting, a fourth order subwoofer with a PR instead of a port. Is this a viable DIY design? I have never seen it before.

Yes, you can easily do this. I experimented with both 4th order and 6th order bandpass using PR's about 5 yrs ago. The only problem is that you're still limited in output by the PR itself. A properly designed port can usually more more air than a single PR the same size as the active. If you ended up with a 12" woofer and dual 15" Pr's then you'd have some advantage. Per the amount of enclosure volume though you'd end up with more output to just do a standard PR enclosure with a pair of PR's. The bandpass has the advantage of increased efficiency over a given range but gives up a lot of the extension.
