I did the RTA myself three days ago... just curious to see if folks would be mistaking 51 Hz for good bass - so I withheld posting the RTA.
And on the other hand, a lot of nonsense about how low you need to go (excepting for movies, pop music, and other cooked sounds). While I have some organ pedals showing up below 20 Hz, the reality is that an AR-1 from 1954 (or a Klipschorn for that matter) that doesn't play much below 35 Hz is plenty great bass and is fully credible for a large drum in a brass band.
