Replace driver for Sony SA-W2500

I am not pleased on how it sounds. I want it to go low and deep.

The amp mounted on the back looks like is pretty decent and serious, is rated to 70W.

What should i do to the box ? Or what other box should i do for it ?

Our forum fellow measured and it has a Qts of 1.2, so ... what kind of box and how big should i do it ? I would prefer as little as possible.

Any advices ?

I'm not sure what you want to do. The title says you want to change the driver but the post indicates you want to build a new cabinet. The W2500 claims to have a response down to 28Hz (there's virtually no music down there).

I seriously doubt you'll achieve substantial improvement by changing the cabinet. Some reviewers report the bass as 'sloppy' this suggests the port is overpowering at certain frequencies. Maybe try retuning the port.

I have this same subwoofer. I have attached the DATS output for the driver. The zma file does not want to upload for some reason.

Cabinet Internal Volume (10.5”x13”x9.25”): .73 cu ft
Magnet (8” driver): .03 cu ft
Port (2-½” diameter, 9”L): .03 cu ft
Bracing: .02 cu ft

Net Internal Volume: .65 cu ft

Mods:
1- Additional bracing.
2- Lined with ½” sonic barrier.
3- Plugged port.
4- Puttied stamped basket woofer.

To get a good seal on the woofer on re-installation, rotate and use new holes for mounting.

The 100W amp is based on the Sanyo STK-404-130S.

Edit: Correction, this is the 8" version, the SA-W2500. Looks to have the same cabinet and amp. The 2500 has the port in the rear.
