Looking at your attachment, that is not a TQWT.

TQWT can have 2 meanings.

1. Tapered Quarter Wave Tube or basically the whole enclosure is a negative flare port and the speaker is mounted on an external panel.

Positive flare = Back Loaded Horn.
Straight flare = Transmission Line.

2. Tapped Quarter Wave Tube or a straight flare tapped horn where the speaker is mounted on an internal panel.

Positive flare = Tapped Horn.
Negative flare = Tapered Tapped Quarter Wave Tube.

Here is my T-TQWT.

Per MJK he has a positive flare vented [ML] TQWT whereas me and some others prefer to further define them as ML-horns. This disagreement with him was one of the reasons he left the forums.

But his constant pointless name game nitpicking and unfortunate ..(since then slowly the ‘horn’ word became less of a pet peeve...but too late and the clash of the titans could gave been the brainstorming or two well equipped brain powers( fact, not brown nosed :) .), is a shame. Because to anyone whos messed around with the top pictured, its clear what that can and is able yo uniquely give unit a hornlike name. Put a hivi 4”b4n in there and its akwardly at 40hz Fb and its a bit serious about making sure you cab hear it. mass loaded sensitive with an attitude mini monster horn shaped expanding path TL , whatever! But more importantky Mr King, sir. Its a great design for some legitimate and real reasons..
