The 18" Eminence YC317C01 (4ohm) driver in my Yamaha DSR118w has blown.

I was wondering if you guys think it would be okay to replace with:
EMINENCE 18" 1200W IMPERO 18C (4 ohm)
I think it will be okay but Yamaha will not confirm.
I can not source the original replacement parts
Can anyone help?

It's an active sub, which means the following:
- Lots of DSP control, including power/excursion limiting to ensure the driver doesn't get destroyed
- An amplifier that's well matched to that particular driver
Dropping a different driver in there pretty much guarantees less than optimal results. Might be good enough, though - that's up to you.

Where are you located that you cannot get replacement parts?
I see the driver available at full compass.. Woofer For DSR118W by Yamaha, YC317C01 | Full Compass Systems
But better still if you are not in the US a recone kit is available which could be shipped for a pretty reasonable cost. Yamaha YC317A0 18in 4 ohms Original Recone Kit

I would give a different answer,
I would say your bound to find a pretty much identical eminence driver to the one your replacing
just look at the parameters and find one that is the same or veery simuler,
if it is slightly differnt I doubt it would matter much.
lets say eminence has a catalog of drivers, there is likely to be one exactly the same as the Impero 18c 1200 just with a different name, if not there will more than likely be one that is very simuler. because of how eminence make there drive units.

...though it would be usefull if they listed the driver specs...

It may be possable you can actually replace it with a better driver so long as some of the specs are close.
