University "Dean" folded horn path, etc. for hornresp ?

- looks to be roughly 48" (?) - is there better path than the one I drew? What happens in that last section when the horn's width jumps from 20 inches to 36 inches in just 4 inches of path? - how should that be handled in the input model? I assume the 2d and 3rd sections are combined to get 4 segments total. Final mouth size is 30" x 36"

any suggestions on improving the model would be appreciated

Depends on what you're trying to achieve. Are you trying to get as close to the original as possible, make it easy to cut the wood, avoid dead space, or does non of the above matter?

- The first segment seem to constrict in the construction schematic but not in Hornresp?
- If the driver fires through a slot, I would start the horn length there, with a ~90 degree bend after a couple of inch.

Thanks - I'll add a couple of inches to the path.

The first thing I'm trying to do is to get a reasonable hornresp model for the "Dean" to compare to the other University Sound folded horn called the "Classic"

The drawing I posted above came directly from the Dean plan.

Dean plans:

It would be nice to simplify that throat but my builder can do the compound angles with no problem.

I can not cut the wood accurately enough for that throat

I'd just throw a JBL M151 into it - probably some damping tape on the aluminum dustcap

maybe you can make the model better - it might be ballpark

I think its a bit different in response than the regular S-9 "Classic" - somewhat higher
cutoff - but might make a nice horn system building block when a sub is added

M151 were $59 IIRC shipped at the old JBL "tent sale"
