Diaphragm displacement @ 1500 W = 15,0mm
Diaphragm displacement @ 520 W = 8,8mm

Looks OK in the Sim Lordsansui has provided.
X max would ideally be bigger but xmech looks generous.
If Hornresp is reporting 520 w into 8 ohm - power will be more into Re and also add in 2db for compression and you are probably looking at 1000w to reach x max.
Some of the RCF drivers seem to sim well in a TH.
I was looking at the RCF LF15X401 15" yesterday looks like a killer driver in the SS15 with a 11.5mm xmax

Guys, I can assure you that the RCF driver you suggested is miles away from what the SW115 drivers are capable of. The xmax at 70% variation of the KMS is about 8 mm and of the BL is at 10 mm. The peak displacement that driver can have without being horrible is 12 mm. The protection value for displacement on the 18sw115 driver is 16.4 mm. Also , the thermal power handling is much lower, even though they specify it almost the same.

Looking at the comparitive prices on Blue Aran (Jam Club) The RCF LF18N451 is available at 259 while the B & C 18SW115 is 400
I would imagine that the RCF might have its place dependent on budget and amplifier power.
That is what interested me with the RCF LF15X401 available at 156 while the 18 inch RCF LF18X401 is 177 and has a 11.5 xmax.

Anyone have a long-term report on the TH18 paired with the 18LW2400?

Iv got 4 18LW2400 in Bass reflex boxes and im not impressed with the SPL. So I figure the TH18 is the best choice for SPL and low bass.

Also how many sheets of ply (4X8) will I need for one box?

as you can see it shows a very weird spl graph when there is more power applied to it and also it indicates insane diaphragm movement, what am I doing wrong?

The driver is 18 sound 18lw1400
