It is only a suggestion. I have been hearing a number of positive tings about these preams. You can use another op-amp, you know.

Rod Elliot's Death of Zen Preamp is also a very good preamp.
If you want to use opamp, be sure to use high quality ones from Burr-Brown or Analog Devices, not those old TL072/NE5532 or so..
For a powersupply, I wouldn't accept crappy ones made with 78/79-series of regulators, LM317/337 have a much lower noise.
