:) hi,

to every one who knows. does an output capacitance (Cop)
of a power transistor affect sonic performance?
from experience, 2sc2922 and its complementary have 250pf
on their specs while MJL4281 and its complementary have 600pf on their specs (Cop). I have one amplifier here at home, this is the P400 hifi I got from www.epanorama.net ( thanks to its contributor )
I have been using this thing for 4 years. for the outputs I used MJL4281 (NPN) AND MJL4302(PNP) and i have a friend here using the same amp but different output devices, 2SC2922 (npn) and 2sa1216 (pnp), through listening tests both amp sounds real good but
dynamic bass reproduction are different, using the output devices
mentioned: the amp (my friend's amp) using 2SC2922 and 2SA1216
slightly dominates and sounds heavier (meaning more dynamic bass) than the amp ( my amp ) using MJL4281 and MJL4302.
Or are there any other transistor characteristics involved?
during these tests same CD player and pre-amp are used.
:D
