Hi all in a recent 'elektor'mag, a MOSFET valvesound amp has featured (sorry ive misplaced the year/issue # ,its at home)

::Opinion wanted::

no valves here,all mosfet.(unlike the hybrids ive seen)

All this circuit is, is buffer,constant current source and Output mosfet in Class A ,very simple NO NFB! -scary thought!

Thd=4.3%
Fr=83hz-115khz
D/f=0.21!
power output=4w rms

Now, they say in the article they WANT to have a lack of damping on the loudspeaker to 'allow the full sound character to be revealed'( in similar words)

1. What affect would this current drive have on midwoofer and tweeter resonance?

2.Could this be a 'fun alternative' project for some one whos been brought up with cheap transistor chipamps and is trying to understand the valve pysche

Cheers!
