I picked up a damaged Krell amp that powered on but would still need repair.
When it was delivered it was literally wrapped in brown shipping paper and looked as though it had been dropped several times. Filed a claim with UPS, we will see where it goes.
To date, I have repaired all of the damage and completed a full "re-cap" over 200 capacitors replaced.
Repaired the low current toroidal transformer and verified its outputs were correct. The problem I am having has to do with the low current toroidal transformer gets really hot, to the point you cannot touch it when the amp is idle. I measured around 300mA going to each channel without the amp being turned on.
Does anyone have any ideas where I might look?
