looking for some help. I am trying to get around 10w rms power output from a single mosfet loaded with a 1:1 output transformer. power supply voltage probably 20v.

trying to understand what current would be required? This is a single ended class A design.

I am trying to figure out the output transformer and need to know how much DC current is going to pass.

Thanks for any help!! you guys are a knowledge of info.

If you look at MoFo thread you will see that a single IRFP240 MOSFET on 20v supply with a 60mH microwave oven transformer can swing about 27vpp with 1.7amps bias - as measured. That’s about 11wrms. The transformer is reactive and boosts the swing way above the rail voltage.

The article in the first post explains everything you need to know to calculate parameters to make it.

Build This MoFo!
