Today the power supply of my SMSL SAP-VI stopped working. I took both the power supply and the amp itself apart and found that the R-core transformer of the psu is blown and that the amp itself is fine (no blown capacitors or burnt odor). This is a unit I found that seems adequate. My plan putting the replacement r-core transformer in some sort of enclosure, soldering a standard power connector (the of a computer's power supply, like this) to the input and the original output cable to the output (from the faulty psu). Is this a good solution, or should I just start saving up for a new, better and more reliable amp?
