I had one of these "AV Surround Receiver" given to me. The thing has several 100 Watt amps plus lots of "bells and whistles" supposed to hook everything to everything else!
It powers up, but the "MODE" function doesn't do anything, making it useless.
I am considering stripping it down to just a plain old stereo amp, manually controlled, 100 Watts per channel, to operate with an external preamp.
If anyone has tried this, I would appreciate comments or suggestions.

I wish you the best of luck! Sometimes these type of products are so "integrated" that you cannot easily identify things like amplifier input, etc. and much of the circuitry is done on an integrated circuit board and not with discrete wiring that you can tap in to. Just pop the top and you will see what I mean!

Did you try resetting the receiver?
While powered off, hold in A/D + FP +Dimmer (all three buttons)
Then press the main power switch till it powers up
