Is your Yamaha amp the big one with the giant red power level indicators up front?
I'll assume you had the audio connections set-up correctly.......being as you had no pre-amp, the only volume control you would have had is the input sensitivity controls on the amp itself.........those should be turned all the way down as they don't give you that much control.
Is there any sound at all when you plug the inputs into the unit?.....I know your not suppose to plug-in inputs with the unit on but it will tell you right off if it's working or not.........buzz, pop, zap. Do the power meters register anything?
Do the power "pilot lights" come on?
