As with everything on eBay, and especially sellers from China (no offense to you reputable Chinese sellers), the buyer needs to be very, very careful with what you buy.
Here are a few reasons:
1) The heatsink is not included with this auction and the design looks to require a specific heatsink profile. They will sell you a heatsink for an additional $30 to $55 (they mention both prices) which brings the price up quite a bit.
2) They usually don't offer schematics, so you have no idea about the amp's topology. You would have to reverse-engineer the amp to figure out the design and then hope it's a decent design, stable, quiet, etc. And if it's not a good design, you have a bad amp that would need tons of mods to improve.
3) You have no idea if the output transistors, or any of the transistors for that matter, are real. A huge, and I mean a globally huge problem impacting electronic components from the DIY'er all the way up to the military, is fake parts. They may work, but could be just random, crappy parts marked like the real thing. The amp may work, but promptly blow up under a load or at higher supply voltages. And naturally, once you blow it up, it's your word against theirs as to the reason. Search this forum for threads about fake parts and you'll see lots of examples.
4) Typically their customer service, shipping times, and return services all leave something to be desired.
So, if you have some disposable income you don't mind risking, some time to wait for your amp, and want a project to possibly re-engineer, then go for it. Otherwise, watch eBay for an Adcom, Mackie, Marantz, Yamaha, etc. module to pop up, or find a project on this forum that offers PCBs and buy quality parts from a reputable supplier. Then you know exactly what you're working with. Also check the seller's feedback rating. If they've sold a ton of these to buyers with lots of great feedback praising the amp, then that will tell you a lot too. Still, keep in mind many people, if not most/all, leave eBay feedback right away and before they've built and performance tested their amp module.
