Hi,

I have an issue in my tri-amped setup where my ATC SPA-200 amp overpowers the other two amps. I have tried inserting a potmeter between my pre and the ATC, but that causes hum - No let me rephrase - It causes HUMMMMM!

The ATC has balanced inputs that are connected to RCA plugs by an adaptor. Input impedance is 10 kOhm. My pre has output imp. of 10 ohm.

Connecting a 100k pot causes violent hum. With a 10k pot the hum is lower but still unacceptable. There is some kind of oscillation going on. I can't figure out what to do about it. Any suggestions are welcome. Maybe some sort of interstage thing is needed. I'd rather not insert a buffer, but maybe a transformer/auto-former thingie...

Best Kris
