Funny! Both your links lead to the same post #2345 here, although both aren't the same (118 vs. 235 in the character chain).

Best regards!

Go and read the links in posts 2669 and 2672.
You will see those same differences.

It's a problem with very complex MENU systems. There are multiple ways to get to apparently the same end.

But the different routes actually give different outcomes.
It's similar for "attaching" pics and such.
The Forum is aware that using the alternative menu routes gives different outcomes, but they have not removed the problem.
Maybe the new software will remove the anomally.

I can't explain that.

But I did try to link while I was not logged in.
In this case all three links took me to post1331 but the Forum system tried to redirect and got stuck in a an ever repeating loop that kept sending me back to post1331. Odd.

So, what do we do now? I'd consider it essential to be able to link to some previous posts, besides citing it.

Best regards!

The Firefox method that usually works is to right click on the post number and use "Copy Link Location".
Then paste that into your post. The alternative for MS internet explorer is to "Copy shortcut" and paste that into your post.
Both these normally exclude the page number and that way all Members whether using the default posts per page or their special posts per page get directed to the correct post.

Ok , this is with me clicking on the post number, waiting for it to load and then copying the the address in the title bar and pasting it here. Seems to work.

That link took me to the top of this current page, i.e. post2661

I changed page and selected post 2644. Copied the address as suggested by Still4 and here is the link
