i design single-device radios: they must amplify RF and AF. the sensitive 16-ohm phones [transformed to 80k-ohms maximum] only need 1 mW. my goal is maximum power. i have used J310 and MPSA18... triodes too [6GK5].
does anyone have any other transistor suggestions? i may try VN10KM or IRF630. any higher hfe BJT? can i drive 16-ohms directly with decent power? equations suggest that BJT power gain is higher than MOSFET unless an emitter resistor is used to increase input impedance for RF.
