bending leads

ok, mainly can i bend the leads for the lm3886 and lm3875 chips? i have large plate like heatsinks and would like the PCB to be parrelel to the plates, so the tabs would have to be parellel as well. i figured this would be a good solution, but since manythings i try don't work, i figured i may as well ask!

If you bend them 3 times over, at the case, they'll break off. Try to bend them slightly away (1mm) from the plastic case, I do it all the time.

ok, i was just gonna use some hemostats to get a nice right angle bend. it makes me feel better.

perhaps they fear being roasted




The other forums are kinda fun,
where people want to reply no
matter how silly the response
inviting more debate

I would say 90% (+/- 50%) of the time
I know the answer but want
to verify to get my thoughts
at 100%.......
