Har har.

I should have photographed the flexible power cable to the electric dragline / digger thing a while back when I worked a few days in the Leigh Creek (SA) coalfields.

My first job out of high school was assembling and wiring complete RF antenna / transmitter switching frames for television and radio broadcast. Used coaxial "rigid line" made from copper pipe, the polished and lacquered outer being anything from 75mm to 200mm in diameter.

Now that would look cool running around ones living room walls.

I used to work with a guy who had an ancient VF (I think) display HP calculator, which was his pride and joy, cared for like it was a family heirloom. But that was understandable because back when he bought it it cost him something like two weeks wages.
Everyone else sniggered behind his back when he pulled it out in the office though :D
