I think that assumption depends on the type of design. The quasi-comp. output stage generally develops a higher proportion of even harmonic distortion on its own and that reinforces the contribution from the unbalanced LTP.

From my experience (listening to ready-made amps), most discrete LTP-based quasi amps sound awful, compared to the normal Lin topology (It's probably the distortion that tends to be higher).


Circuits like Naim shows that quasi can actually be more symmetrical than most complementary output, which is not automatically symmetrical.

And... the NAP has these tantalum capacitors that are outside of the feedback loop and add their distortion, plus the non-linear capacitance of the VAS.
