From SW to AKABAK with mesh-files

Hello guys,


For a project I want to use Akabak software. The idea is to simulate acosutic wave scattered cones of differents shapes. Shapes of the cone are simple (straight, log, circular, etc ...).

I'm used with Solidwork, this is why i'm using it for CAD. But I can't succed to import those simple geometries is Akabak through mesh-files ...

Does someone tell me what to do for that? Ofc if you're using another CAD software, I can adapt myself since I just want to draw very simple shapes.

Are you using Gmesh as intermediate converter?
I use Fusion 360, export from it to STEP file, import this to Gmesh, define meshing in it and export to msh file version 2 ASCII.

Hi kaameelis and thank you for your reply!

I've seen this tutorial but for some reason it wasn't working well for me ...
Anyway I finally found a solution which seems to work. For peoples interest in it :
- Export your geometry from SW as a .STL extensions. Make it why the lower resolution.
- import the part in meshmixer to reduce the number of face (which is usually very importante )
- import it in AKABAK and re-mesh it with higher resolution if needed!


there is still some minor issues like the origine of the geometry which is not repected in akabak, but I think it's coming from the meshing in SW. So you have to scale it in akabak.

Hi hellbananaz.
There's an easiest way for that, just export your file in .step AP214 then open it in Gmsh, make sure your geometry is made with surfaces.
