You SRPP 6922 output stage is not a differential stage so you should use a transformer like the LL1684 or cheaper type to convert the ES9018 outputs to un-balanced before to connect your output stage.

Thank you for the answer. Do i understand right, that it is because the signal in the AN-DAC is at any state signal to ground. In the ESS output it is separated and cannot be put against Gnd without a decoupling transformer. Then i would have 2 transformers in the signal path. Does this make sense? I first thought that a new digital section with the tube output would be fine. Until now i am very satisfied with the AN-sound and thought this is particular due to the tube stage. But the limitation to 16/48 in 2013 is not the greatest hit.

Would it make more sense to take your analog stage?

Regarding the output stage, based on my humble understanding, your design is like this:

ES9018 V-out > Discrete V/I > I Amplication > Discrete I/V > MOSFET Class A ouput.

Am I right?
I'm wondering why don't design like this:

ES9018 I-out > I Amplication (like SATRI circuits, which I like very much!) > Discrete I/V > MOSFET Class A ouput.

BTW, what is the purpose of the OPA2134?

I really like the headphone-friendly output design!

Hi!

I'm in the process of selecting a high quality dac and i have some questions.

- Can some one give me a hint of the quality of this one. Is it good value for the money? How does it compare with the buffalo?

- I'm thinking of running the dac voltage out, the a and b dac parallel and in phase via a high pass filter to a single ended output without any transformer. That would just give me 1 v ouput, but I think it would give me enough level in my set up. Is this a good or bad idea?

- How good is the digital volume control compared to an analogue one? I'm thinking of skipping the preamp and running it directly to the amp. Is this a good or bad idea?
