Just to let those in the UK know that Asda have their stainless mixing bowls on half price at the moment (£1.25).

these I think - Stainless-steel Mixing Bowl - 28cm | Home & Garden | George

These are approx 4l with a 270mm max diameter and a 120mm flat on the bass and a good lip to connect two together. So, if you are looking to build a cheap spherical enclosure (similar to the ikea wooden bowl ones from a few years back), this may be an interesting prospect. They are thin so will need lining but will give approx 7l volume, will have a rear flat to mount connectors and/or port and may fit a full range 4"speaker well. Maybe a CHP70 would go well.

Stick a short cylinder between two of them maybe? Would allow for easy porting and a stand mount plus increase volume.
