Hi all!
I'm trying to work out if this is a good idea. I've a couple of Dayton ps95's here and I was thinking of making a rather tall (1 meter perhaps?) slim ML-TL build with them.
I'd previously made a set of Abby clones and loved them, so this is the motivation behind the idea. This time I'd fold them though, rather that have such a tall box, and as I'm likely to move again at some stage (the abby clones are in storage sadly!).
Before I do all the learning involved to formulate a build plan, is this a crazy idea?

The PS95 was done more than a few times in a TABAQ, which is a thin MLTL.

Its a great driver and one of my favorites. I designed a transmission line (figures are on a notecard somewhere) that went down to 80hz very well and crossed them over to a subwoofer. First time in my life I've ever heard "holographic imaging".
...I'd be quite interested to see the design. If you can find the card?
No need for a TL if planning to go down to 80Hz only. A simple 3-litre box with a small vent will do that.
To be honest, I like TL speakers for the sound, and also the fun of building something that isn't a straight up box. The easiest output is the least interesting to me, hence the occasionally ridiculous builds.
Lucky I can't bill myself for the time spent!
I love TLs as well, actually more like MLTLs.
That was my point, if you build a TL or MLTL, you can easily reach 50Hz... why limit to 80Hz, which you can do with a simple box?
Why not take advantage of the design and reach its potential?
Gotcha!
And I agree - may as well max out the result here after all...
nice! ican see that you are using what seems to be a passive xo . how did you go about solving the the difference in efficiency of the drivers? bi amping or bsc? i have thought of pairing these with small subs but the pass aleph 30 that im currently putting together dont have alot of headroom to support subs.
which design did you go with? i have a pair of these and im still looking around for some suitable design. i simmed these in winisd but ended up being frustrated with the results i got.
Not built unfortunately! My work space access is no more, so I just have a couple of nice drivers looking at me
