You are well convinced that DA does not influence the perceived sound. Many here will disagree with you based on their experience. As mentioned the only time I ignore dc/dt is in power supply calculations.

Again it is close, but would you care to demonstrate that it holds to even -140 dB. (I'll give you the friendly 20 dB discount.)

Where did you get that idea (you say DA without qualification, I never said that), everything has a perceptual threshold?

You state it again, please provide evidence that these -120dB aberrations are audible. A posse of believers around the campfire doing sighted listening does not cut it. The burden of proof is on YOU, the many here that disagree are often just that.

Come on Ed, lighten up the EE community at large does not view this as an issue or you would see a lot more discussion in the literature. My concern today is finding a left handed skill saw, the Porter Cable Saw Boss was the only one I found that was corded. The problems of wrong handed saws should be familiar to you.

Like sniping on eBay in the old days. Sniping a rare LP on eBay ended up in a wonderful experience for me. The other bidder was a 60's blues guitarists trying to get a copy of one of his mentors LP's. We made contact and I digitized several LP's for him and he ended up giving me a private concert in my hotel room when I was in his area. I also placed him in contact with other fans of his mentor.

Now where can you find a capacitor with significant DA that does not also have other issues?

You are well aware that I aim for -160 on the chicken soup theory.

The issue is if under test conditions some artifacts are -120 can there be conditions during reproduction that it may cause artifacts that are perceived.

Good for you, now prove it in a way that stands up to review and reproducible results.

On capacitors I'm only interested in finding the cheapest ones that work, creating an encyclopedia of what does not work has little interest to me.
