Need Help Determining Frequency X-Over!!
Good morning or evening everyone!

Everything was going smooth until I started looking into cross-overs. Is it just me or is info hard to come by for this particular part of DIY speaker building? I feel like I know less now than when I started off, LOL!!!

I originally wanted to make a 3 way system. But after looking into it I said maybe a 2 way is the best way to start. How do I know at which frequency point to divide the signal? I got the formulas, I understand the electronics behind it.

Can anyone explain how to find/choose that x-over point, or recommend a good link or book that can describes how to figure it out ?

Look at the Freq response graphs of your candidate drivers, so you know what they're capable of....
Decide your baffle step frequency (determines/ is determined by width of your box)

And the formulas won't help you much. They are a starting point, but usually are a very BAD starting point. These are for textbook filters that work into textbook loads with textbook frequency responses, none of which an actual loudspeaker has.
