Do speakers have "soul"?

I am a bit fortunate to be able to drive an older generation and affordable BMW M3. Most auto enthusiasts consider the M3 especially the older gen have certain "soul". After having driven various cars I sort of agree. Occasionally when my car is in the shop, I have to rent a Toyota and it feels sort of like an "appliance" and sort of "soulless" if that makes sense. And having driven my old M3, I can't really drive any other cars especially in its price range. So I guess that is my metric or ultimatum of sort.
So my question is do speakers have "soul"? Do some have more "soul" than others? Do some are considered "appliances"?

BMW straight 6 cylinder is a perfect motor. I had the honor of driving E36 325i with 192 bhp and then I realized what Germans meant to say with their motto Freude am fahren. I was so content with this vehicle that the fuel consumption was 25 litres/100 km constantly. Lojzek the Bleifuss, ha ha.

Depends what you mean by 'older'. Early M3 (the 4 pot nutter ones) had soul in so much as they would try and kill you if you took liberties with them.

Do you mean the older 911? Mine is an E46 M3.

The M3 with soul is the E30, the later ones not so much.
By the time the E36 M3 came about BMW had moved any soul into the M Coupé.

Bill meant the best looking M3 ever.

My dad's Porsche 911 (996) has a soul. The electronic locking and alarm definitely have a soul.

My Mazda RX-8 also has a soul. Loves to rev and is a joy to drive.

No, I meant the E30 had soul (and danger). The fact that it looked the dogs danglies was just a case of form following function :). I also have a soft spot for Escort RS1600 (mk1) for similar reasons.
