Hi,

Basic Preamplifier (Balanced Outputs) with the following:

MM Phono Stage

TUNER, AUX

1 Tape Monitor

A Mono Switch, for Mono LPs ...

Main Outputs: Balanced with good headroom. (+22dbu minimum).

Is a kit or a plan similar to the above available ?

I know there are different way of balancing including "transformer balanced".

Is Balancing possible without affecting quality and driving the cost way, way up ?

I can live without balanced outs but they would be nice for active speaker (Pro Monitor) and in different room (Long Cable Run).

About how much would this cost without cutting corner to much ?

It's going to be my first project and I don't have a course in electronics so I still cannot design my own, but I am willing and reading a lot and trying hard to understand !

Maybe I would be better with a kit ? (In Canada) and do some MOD on it

What minimal testing equipment aside from a good multimeter and a soldering iron would I need ?

I am from Canada and French so my English is not the greatest...

Thank You
