I have been looking at Van Alstine's crossover mod to the DM640 to tame the boomy bass. I have a pair of DM640i's which have slightly different values in some of the crossover components relative to the 640. One of the caps (C1) to be adjusted is 85mF in the DM640 and 63mF in the DM640i. Van Alstine recommends a 75ohm resistor in parallel on the 85mF in the 640....would this be different in the 640i? Another way of asking this is....does the smaller cap in the 640i let in more bass or less bass than the cap in the 640 and assuming 75ohm is ideal in the 640 with the 85mF cap...would it be too big, too small or just right with the 63mF cap?
