iBIB for FE208Ez
Building plans for inverted BIB in the making - but I need some viewpoints on minimum clearnce to floor. Any idea anyone?

Have any of you ever built a similar speaker?

I've built several iBiB's for the Dayton RS100-4. I only stood them up about 1" off the floor on dowels. The sound is fine. They are much smaller than your 208's will require, so I'm not sure if size has much to do with it.

I took a BiB and tried it both ways: pointing up (about 12" to the ceiling), and inverted by 3".

It sounded better pointing at the ceiling. My conclusion was that 3" is not enough.

I have a BLH using a 6" Fostex (the cab was a prototype based on the Einstein Rigoletto) which has a terminus just like an inverted BiB. It's about 5" off the floor. I tried greater and lesser amounts, and it always sounds best at the manufacturer's height of about 5".

Not sure if that's relevant to your situation though!

Seriouly considering a build to compare to my 206e factory horns. Then a pair of Sachikos..........put down the pipe.............
